After a Reiki treatment you may (or may not) feel one or more of the following responses:
-
Feeling of well-being
-
Feeling more connected/engaged with life
-
Feeling well rested
-
Emotional releases e.g. anger, sadness
-
Elevation of mood
-
Digestive upsets
-
Cold/flu-like symptoms
-
Headache
-
Nausea
-
Hot flushes
-
Tiredness
-
Feeling calm
-
Felling of lightness
Should any of the above responses occur, this may simply be an indication of the body adjusting after a Reiki treatment in a positive way. Rest and drinking water is generally recommended if you are not feeling well. You may want to consider having a follow-up session to help move the energy through faster and are encouraged to contact your Practitioner if this is the case.
If after a couple of days, or at any time after your Reiki session, you still feel uncomfortable or are concerned, please don’t hesitate to your Practioner.
NOTE: Please seek medical advice for any symptoms or anything that you are concerned about. Please do not assume that Reiki was the cause, call your medical practitioner.

RESPONSES TO REIKI TREATMENTS
(Side Effects and Healing Crisis)
Most people have a sense of calm and a feeling of well-being after a Reiki session. Some people may not notice any difference straight away and some will have a response that may be uncomfortable.

For those who have a response that feels uncomfortable, they may be concerned that they are feeling worse after Reiki when they were expecting to feel better. They may experience things like headaches, cramps or nausea or feel more emotional, teary, angry or down.
Some call these shifts 'healing crisis' or 'energy healing crisis' which can sound rather alarming. Truth is, everyone's Reiki experience is unique. The result of shifting energy can impact clients in various ways and just because it may feel uncomfortable for a short time, doesn't mean it is a crisis, it is simply energy shifting and moving.
