There’s something truly magical about dance! Something primal, something woven into us. It’s more than just movement—it’s expression, connection, freedom. For as long as humans have existed, we’ve danced. In celebration, in grief, in ritual, in joy. It’s as if our bodies understand something our minds sometimes forget: that movement is how we process, how we let go, how we heal and find joy.

In recent years, I’ve come to see dance not just as joy, but as a kind of medicine. We move to shift energy, to shake off stress, to clear out what’s heavy. To remind our bodies how they’re meant to flow. Maybe that’s why it feels so good! 💃🏽

Last night, I danced the night away with friends at the New Order concert live at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl. It was incredible to be outside on such a beautiful balmy night in Melbourne, celebrating the music that was the backdrop to our early adult lives, sharing in the pure joy of the music and dance- the type of joy that lingered, carrying us through the night and well into the next day.

Reflecting on it, I realize how vital these moments are. It’s a reminder of the simple pleasures, connection, celebration, laughter and letting ourselves get totally lost in the music together! To more of that! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

Exploring the Roots of Reiki ✨

If you’ve been practicing Reiki for a while, you might have heard the terms ‘Japanese Reiki’ and ‘Western Reiki’—but what are the differences?

Over time, Reiki has been adapted and has changed in different ways from the original practice taught by Reiki founder, Mikao Usui in Japan.

The changes made by the Western approach has ensured the survival of Reiki beyond World War II and made Reiki widely accessible as well simplifying the practices to accomodate seminar-type teaching. The Japanese systems emerged more recently and have retained certain spiritual and intuitive elements as well as more advanced healing techniques that were part of the original practice.

At the end of the day, all Reiki is Reiki and this is important to keep in mind. Then energy being channeled is the same whether it’s Western or Japanese Reiki. The difference is what is taught.

Not a day goes by that I don’t feel deeply grateful for finding my true vocation! Perhaps because it didn’t come without struggle—it followed years of ignoring my heart, living a life that wasn’t truly mine, and facing the painful consequences of that misalignment. It came after battling depression, fighting to survive, and ultimately choosing to heal, which I am so proud of - healing takes courage.

And maybe that’s what makes this journey even more beautiful—the contrast.

I often say I was born for this, that Reiki was waiting for me. But not until I had done the work, learned what I needed to, and was ready for what Reiki had in store.

The healing never ends. The growth never ends. And to have Reiki as a tool to support my own journey—while also serving others as a Practitioner and empowering them as a Teacher—is more fulfilling than words can express.

Today marks seven years since my first Reiki attunement. Seven years of learning, healing, growing, and walking this path with gratitude for everything Reiki has brought into my life and the lives of those I’ve been privileged to share it with. Today I feel incredibly proud and even more so, deeply grateful! 🙏🏽🥰🥳🤍

They may not pitch themselves that way, but even pop artists are healers. The joy and celebration in the arena last night were incredible!

With a decades-long catalogue and a crowd of people who had grown up with Kylie, strangers danced together like old friends, completely united in one goal…to sing, to dance, to lose themselves in the music!

We danced with friends, we danced with strangers, it was pure fun, the kind that fills you up and leaves you feeling totally nourished and energised!

Healing isn’t just about meditation or quieting the mind. It’s also about nourishing the soul—finding moments of joy, of expression, of letting loose and finding freedom. Last night was all of that and more!! 💃🏽🪭💃🏽
